About ResponseHSC
We built this because HSC short answers reward precision under time—and it is hard to get honest, criteria-level feedback at volume across the subjects you actually sit.
What we focus on
ResponseHSC is a practice tool for rubric-linked HSC-style questions. ResponseHSC uses past HSC and trial questions to provide real exam-like questions, so you can work on your high band responses.
You can practise timed or untimed, filter the question bank (for example HSC vs trial sources where that applies), and keep working in the browser without losing a half-written answer when you navigate away.
How marking works
When you submit, we send your response together with the question, any stimulus text, that question’s own marking criteria to an AI model trained on the syllabus. You get a mark, band-style feedback, a diff-style view of suggested wording changes, and a sample high-level answer—so you can see what “better” looks like for that specific task, not a generic paragraph.
That makes ResponseHSC a practice tool, not a prediction of your exam result. Your teachers and NESA materials stay the authority for assessment rules and schoolwork.

We are growing subject coverage and question types over time. If something feels off in a question, you can report it from practice—we read that feedback.
